Yesung of Super Junior Joins Military on May 6

Yesung of Super Junior will join the military on May 6.

Yesung will join the Jeonju 35th Division in North Jeolla Province on May 6 and after completing four weeks of basic training, he will serve as social service personnel for twenty-three months.

Yesung is planning to continue to perform and spend personal time until he joins the military. However, he will be unable to stay abroad for long periods of time and will thus be unable to join the Super Junior World Tour ‘Super Show 5’ in South America that will be held in Argentina, Chile and Peru, starting off in Brazil on April 21.

Moreover, taking into consideration the global popularity of Super Junior, it is expected that both domestic and foreign press and fans will turn their attention to Yesung joining the military. However, because Yesung stated his wish to join the military quietly, no event is being planned at the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Super Junior members are currently staying active with their personal schedules and are planning to meet with fans around the world with their World Tour ‘Super Show 5’.
