South America 4 Nations Tour Begins! First Solo Concert by Korean Group Excites Audience of 8,000!
Super Junior, who is currently on the largest-ever tour in South America for Korean singers, successfully ended their first concert in the other side of the world in Brazil.
SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR ‘SUPER SHOW 5’ IN SAO PAULO, which was held for about three hours starting from 7:30 P.M. (local time) on the 21st at the Creditcard Hall in Sao Paulo, was filled with great excitement as it combined the powerful performances of Super Junior and the passionate cheers of 8,000 fans.
This was the first solo concert for a Korean group in Brazil and was also the first solo concert in South America by Super Junior and the first overseas concert in the new World Tour ‘Super Show 5’. Because of such reasons, tickets sold out far before the concert and raised expectations for the explosive response from South American fans.
Super Junior performed a total of 24 songs including their debut song ‘Twins’ and hits such as ‘Sorry, Sorry’, ‘Bonamana’, ‘Mr.Simple’, ‘Sex, Free & Single’, and other tracks and sub-unit performances. It was a fantastic performance combining the music and character unique to Super Junior, as well as their performances, to captivate the audience.
They also performed the Brazilian singer Michel Teló’s ‘Ai se eu te pego’ especially for their South American fans. They also said in Portuguese “Did you want to see us?” “We wanted to meet you.” “Let’s have fun.” Thus, they were able to communicate a bit more closely with local fans and spend a great time, making it more than enough to experience the unique charms of ‘Super Show’ where the singer and audience become one.
The audience also enjoyed the concert singing and dancing along to each song. The extreme excitement at the concert resulted in over 140 fans being fainting or being carried out in wheel chairs. The local medical team said that this never happened before and that they were surprised of the supreme popularity of Super Junior that exceeds that of other pop stars.
After the concert in Brazil, Super Junior said, “We flew for 25 hours for this South American Tour. We thought it was a really far away country, but on stage, we feel a lot closer. We didn’t even imagine that we will be able to have our own concert in Brazil when we debuted. We really thank our fans for making it possible for us to continue to set new records.”
Meanwhile, after their successful concert in Brazil, Super Junior will continue their ‘SUPER SHOW 5’ South American Tour at Luna Park Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina on the 23rd.
